Shortlist announced for 2024 Community Radio Awards

The finalists for the 9th Community Radio Awards, sponsored by Aiir, has been released.

Volunteers, and Stations from across the country submitted entries into the seventeen categories, including a special category this year for coverage of this summer’s General Election.

The shortlist has been drawn together after entries have been listened to and scored by judges from across the radio, community and academic sectors, all are volunteers who give hours and hours to the process which is entirely independent from any individuals or organisations.

Across a wide variety of specialisms and topics, a shortlisting in the awards is recognition of a commitment to community, craft, and causes.

Martin Steers, awards Chair, said; “After all these years its great to see the quality of entries continue to rise, and also see a good number of stations enter, including new stations to the awards this year.

All those shortlisted should be proud of what they do for their Station and their communities and we wish all the finalists good luck and we look forward to welcoming them to Cardiff in November.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony which is taking place after the UK Community Radio Networks national Community Radio conference, both are taking place on November the 16th at Cardiff City Stadium.

Tickets are on sale now at https://CommunityRadio2024.eventbrite.co.uk and include a joint ticket to both events, and an discounted early bird price that is open for the next two weeks.
