Shortlist announced for 2023 Community Radio Awards

The shortlist for the 2023 Community Radio Awards, sponsored by Aiir, has been revealed.

The list was whittled down from entries from stations from every corner of the UK, including special categories for coverage in honour of HM Queen Elizabeth II, and the coronation of King Charles III in local communities.

All material submitted was broadcast between June 2022-23, and the thorough judging process sees each entry reviewed and scored by judges from across the radio and community sectors.

Across a wide variety of specialisms and topics, a shortlisting in the awards is recognition of a commitment to community, craft, and causes.

Martin Steers, awards Chair, said: “Every year we are constantly surprised and delighted by the breadth and depth of the output of community radio, both on air and in their local communities.

“We wish all those shortlisted good luck and can’t wait to host the ceremony in Newcastle in November.”

The winners will be revealed in an evening ceremony in Newcastle-upon-Tyne on November 4, hosted alongside the annual UK Community Radio Network conference, taking place in the daytime.
